What Can Tetra PRO Treat?

BEFORE & AFTER

The Tetra PRO is an advanced fractional CO₂ laser used to improve the skin’s tone, texture, and overall quality. CO₂ laser resurfacing creates thousands of tiny, controlled treatment channels in the skin. This removes areas of damaged surface tissue while signaling the skin to begin a natural repair process. During this process, the skin produces new collagen and gradually becomes smoother, firmer, and more even in appearance.

Traditional CO₂ treatments can be extremely effective, but they are often associated with significant heat, prolonged redness, and an extended recovery. The Tetra PRO gives us much greater control over the intensity, depth, density, and amount of energy delivered. That means your treatment does not have to be one-size-fits-all.

Wants meaningful skin renewal with limited interruption to daily life

CoolPeel and DEKA Pulse are not two completely different lasers. They are two ways we can use the Tetra PRO CO₂ platform. The difference is primarily how deeply and aggressively the skin is treated.

Your wrinkles are deeper or more established.

DEKA Pulse may be right for you if

CO₂ Resurfacing With Minimal Downtime

You are beginning to notice fine lines or
changes in texture.

You prefer gradual, natural-looking improvement through a series of treatments.

You want a CO₂ treatment but cannot commit to a lengthy recovery.

You want to support collagen production before signs of aging become more advanced.

Your skin looks dull, rough, or sun damaged.

Your pores appear more visible

CoolPeel may be right for you if

CoolPeel is the lighter, low-downtime treatment available on the Tetra PRO. It uses short, precise pulses of CO₂ energy to treat the skin’s superficial layers while limiting unnecessary heat buildup in the surrounding tissue. This makes it possible to improve texture, fine lines, pores, and mild sun damage without the prolonged recovery traditionally associated with CO₂ resurfacing.

After treatment, the skin may look pink or red and commonly develops a dry, rough, sandpaper-like texture. Most patients can return to their usual routine relatively quickly, although makeup, exercise, sun exposure, and active skincare may need to be avoided temporarily.

COOLPEEL®

DEKA Pulse allows us to use the same Tetra PRO platform at deeper, more intensive settings. This option may be recommended when the concern extends beyond the superficial layers of the skin. It can provide greater correction for etched-in lines, deeper acne scars, advanced sun damage, and more significant textural changes.

Because it creates a stronger resurfacing and collagen-remodeling response, DEKA Pulse requires more preparation, aftercare, and downtime than CoolPeel. Patients should expect a more noticeable healing process that may include warmth, redness, swelling, peeling, pinpoint bleeding, weeping, or oozing.

DEKA Pulse

You are comfortable planning for several days of visible recovery.

You understand that proper preparation and aftercare are essential.

You want a stronger corrective treatment.

You have more advanced sun damage.

You have moderate to significant acne scarring.

Frequently
Asked Questions

Everything you might want to know before your consultation.

CoolPeel uses CO₂ laser energy, but it is performed with specialized settings that deliver short, precise pulses while limiting unnecessary heat buildup. It targets the skin more superficially than a traditional deep CO₂ resurfacing treatment, resulting in less downtime. DEKA Pulse allows us to provide a deeper treatment when greater correction is needed.

Most patients experience redness followed by dryness and a rough, sandpaper-like texture for several days. The exact recovery depends on the settings used and your individual skin response. Minimal downtime does not mean zero healing, so you should still plan to treat your skin gently and follow all aftercare instructions.

DEKA Pulse involves a more significant recovery. Redness, swelling, warmth, peeling, pinpoint bleeding, weeping, or oozing may occur during the early healing period. The amount of visible downtime depends on the depth and intensity of your treatment. We will give you detailed preparation and aftercare instructions before your appointment.

A medical-grade topical numbing cream is typically applied before treatment. Patients often describe CoolPeel as warm, prickly, or similar to a mild sunburn. DEKA Pulse is more intensive and may create a stronger sensation during and after treatment. Comfort varies from person to person.

You may notice smoother, brighter-looking skin after the initial healing period. Collagen production takes time, so improvement can continue over the following weeks and months.

A series of three is often recommended for optimal results, especially when treating texture, pores, fine lines, or sun damage. Your recommended number may differ based on your skin and the intensity of each session.

CoolPeel may improve mild textural acne scarring. Deeper or more complex scars may respond better to DEKA Pulse, microneedling, regenerative treatments, or a combination approach. Acne scars are not all the same, so an in-person assessment is important.

CoolPeel may improve certain types of superficial sun damage and brown spots, but melasma behaves differently from ordinary sun damage and can worsen with heat or inflammation. Patients with melasma or a history of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation require a careful consultation and may not be appropriate candidates.

The treatment stimulates collagen and may create a firmer, smoother appearance. It is not a substitute for surgery and will not correct significant skin laxity.

Common treatment areas include the face, neck, chest, and hands. Specific areas and settings are selected during your consultation.

Both treatments stimulate the skin’s repair response, but they work differently. Microneedling creates controlled mechanical microchannels without laser energy. CoolPeel resurfaces the skin using fractional CO₂ energy and is often selected when surface texture, sun damage, pores, or fine lines are primary concerns.

Some patients benefit from having both treatments in a long-term skin plan because they can address the skin in complementary ways.

Makeup should not be applied until the skin has healed enough and your provider has cleared you to resume it. Applying makeup too soon can irritate healing skin and increase the risk of complications.

CO₂ treatments should be scheduled with enough time for redness, dryness, peeling, or swelling to fully resolve. You must also avoid tanning and excessive sun exposure before and after treatment. Let us know about upcoming events or travel during your consultation so we can recommend an appropriate timeline.

Treatment candidacy depends on more than skin tone alone. Your Fitzpatrick skin type, pigmentation history, medications, recent sun exposure, and tendency to develop post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation must all be considered. Some patients may need pretreatment skincare, modified settings, or a different treatment altogether.
